What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

That is difficult to decide. I do not usually like to label things as favorites. I like games for certain reasons or situations so depending on the situation I may not want to play a particular game. But, if I had to pick:

Cards: Runs and Sets

Board: Mansions of Madness

Video: Assassins Creed Brotherhood

Why?

For cards, as a family and when we would go out camping, we would always play this game. It was easy, did not have many components, just the rules and a deck or 2 of cards. It would be labeled as my favorite only because of the nostalgia factor. And, to this day, if we have a get together and want to sit down and socialize or torture everyone, we play. I do not think we have ever finished and had someone win in one sitting. Usually takes 2 sit down sessions at least.

For boardgames, mansions of madness is there only because it is one of the more recent boardgames I have played and I enjoy it every time. The playthrough is never the same twice because the random number generation factor or roll of the die makes it different. And, depending on the objective and who you play with, the motivation for the villain will change.

For video games, the Assassins Creed franchise in general would be my favorite but within it, it would be Brotherhood. It was one of the few games I completed to 100%. I liked the storyline and the mechanics of the game. The newer assassins creed games are a bit too open world for my liking but the enjoyment is still there. And, who would not want to be an assassin? Playing that type of character would be my favorite. Anyone know of any other games like that? I would love to find more.

What would be your favorite?
