That is a difficult task given that the Olympics or ongoing in Paris right now. Most articles I have come across today were covering the Olympics or Olympics related/affiliated stories. Some interesting ones to boot.
Then given the fact that there is such a major international event, there are plenty of local/national and international news headlines that are quite interesting as well.
It is also the Civic Holiday here in Canada. That makes the hunt that much harder.
I managed to find an uninteresting story after a bit of searching but I do not know if it would be totally uninteresting. It had to be of some interest to myself to have some connection to my life.
The article I found was on a provincial tax in Newfoundland and Labrador on sugary drinks. Stating that a 20 cent tax per liter of sugary drinks was being charged beginning in 2022. This tax brought in $11 million in the first year. And, 70% of people surveyed states they will not change their habits due to the tax.
I would hate to see this tax implemented where I live. I can only imagine that the tax would further increase the price of sugary drinks, and I like my sugary drinks. I do not think I would stop buying them as well. Although, I am trying to push towards drinking less of them due to my fitness goals and image goals.
A question I have on the tax is, how do they enforce the tax? Is it only on already manufactured products? Not products that are considered sugary but are put together on the spot like Starbucks drinks or fresh bubble tea drinks, etc. I am surprised this is something that can be taxed. The logistics of enforcement seem a bit difficult for non-premanufactured goods.

Anything uninteresting happening around you today?
